Pupil Voice

It is important to us that all children at Burfield Academy feel listened to and able to contribute appropriately to decision making in our school. Our children are the most important people in our school and we want them to feel that their school values their opinion and voice.

We do this by:

holding regular pupil consultation panels on focussed subjects (e.g. health improvement grant spending, teaching and learning, behaviour)

individual meetings with all SEN/LAC prior to core group, conference meetings and annual reviews so that views can be sought.

circle times in every classroom each week.

pupil led projects (e.g. the development of our garden and allotment, designs for a Christmas card for our MP).

We are currently working to develop a school council with representatives of our classes at an age-appropriate level.
